The fourth and final incarnation described in the Ganesha Purana's account has not yet arrived: Dhumraketu, ash-grey in color, destined to appear at the close of the current Kali Yuga to bring its long decline to an end.
A Form Suited to a Fading Age
Where the earlier avatars carried vivid colors, Mahotkata's red, Mayuresvara's white, Gajanana's red, Dhumraketu's grey, smoke-like hue reflects the particular character of the Kali Yuga itself, an age tradition describes as clouded and diminished compared to those before it.
A Mount and Weapon of the End Times
Tradition holds that Dhumraketu will ride a blue horse, and will carry, in some accounts, a flaming sword suited to the decisive, corrective work this final incarnation is destined to perform as the Kali Yuga reaches its close.
